By participating in the Big Brainers Chess Tournament, you agree to follow all guidelines and regulations on the official website in addition to the rules stated below:
NO CHEATING - The player may not receive any form of external assistance or influence including but not limited to receiving tips from another person (e.g. family member), chess engine, or any other online sources.
Show Sportsmanship - Remember you are playing chess against an actual person so be nice and most importantly, let yourself enjoy the game and let others enjoy the game. Be sure to say “good luck” in the beginning and “good game” at the end of each game to your opponent, regardless of the outcome of the match; this can be done over the chess.com chat.
Have fun - Remember that in the end, chess is just a game and that whether you win or lose, the experience is what counts.
K-12 students - all participants must be in grade school at the time of the event. At this time, we are limiting the USCF rating cap to a maximum of 1400.
If the player is determined to have violated the rules or to have played unfairly, the Big Brainers Chess Team will accordingly discredit the player in the tournament, including a possible disqualification in this and all future Big Brainers Chess Tournaments.
